A CREATIVE LEARNING COMMUNITY

About Applied Research & Education Collaborative
Applied Research & Education Collaborative (AREC) is a community-centered organization that bridges research, education, and creative practice through meaningful, real-world engagement.
Founded by Dr. Angela Benveniste, AREC is grounded in the belief that learning should be experiential, inclusive, and connected to community. Drawing on interdisciplinary expertise in psychology, education, and the arts, AREC supports diverse learners through innovative, strengths-based programming.
AREC brings together universities, schools, artists, and community partners to create collaborative spaces where individuals of all ages can thrive. Through mentorship and hands-on learning, students are empowered to lead, teach, and engage—building both academic skills and social responsibility.
Programs include inclusive art studios, creative learning camps, and community-based research initiatives designed to support a wide range of learning styles. As a growing LLC with a commitment to social impact, AREC focuses on building sustainable, collaborative learning environments that foster creativity, connection, and opportunity.
